Two forty year-old friends – Jeff and Garrett – struggle with adulthood from opposite sides of the fence: Jeff ran from adulthood while Garrett ran towards it and now each are left wondering just what they may have missed out on and where they are headed next.
JEF TAYLOR (Director/Actor) is a Brooklyn-based filmmaker whose work has screened at festivals worldwide; including Sundance, the Independent Film Festival of Boston, Nashville, Guanajuato, HollyShorts, and Sao Paulo. He received the award for Outstanding Achievement in Directing at VisionFest NY for his short film COVERAGE, and was named Best Editor as a graduate student at the Savannah College of Art and Design. His film After You Left screened as an Official Selection at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and was named Best Dramatic Short at the Detroit Windsor International Film Festival. Jef is also a graduate of the Second City Training Center and is a member of the Brooklyn Filmmakers Collective.
Originally from Wyoming, GARRETT NEERGAARD (Actor) came to the east coast after completing his MFA in Acting from the University of California, San Diego. He also holds a BFA in Theatre from the University of Wyoming. Notable regional theaters Garrett has acted at include Yale Rep, Arena Stage (in D.C.), the La Jolla Playhouse and Baltimore Centerstage. In 2011, Garrett understudied on Broadway in the play Good People. Notable film credits include HBO’s The Laramie Project (Sundance, 2002) and After You Left (Sundance, 2011). This season he’ll be appearing in the new Showtime series, Happyish, and in the upcoming play, 10 out of 12 at Soho Rep. He is an Associate Artist of the Civilians and teaches acting at LaGuardia Community College.
CHRIS CASEY (Producer) is an independent film producer and founder of Silent Dog Pictures. His documentary work has championed education and political engagement, working with NBC Universal, Transient Pictures and The Huffington Post. His narrative film work includes collaborations with playwright Young Jean Lee and The People’s Improv Theater. Before starting Silent Dog Pictures, Chris founded the Westport Youth Film Festival, the first international film festival for high school student filmmakers. He graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with a degree in film and television production and is a proud member of the Brooklyn Filmmakers Collective.
Texas native RYAN DICKIE (Director of Photography) is a filmmaker based in Brooklyn NY. He is a founding member of 1000% Productions, shooting and editing content for Vogue, Google, Nike and many others. He has lensed a number of short films that screened at Sundance, SXSW, Rotterdam, VisionFest NYC and Guanajuato Film Festival. Ryan recently completed his first crowd funded, long-form short film, WINNERS, which premiered in New York at the Williamsburg Independent Film Festival and won the Spirit Award. This year he plans to develop his first feature-length film, while taking on exciting short form projects and commercial endeavors in the meantime to sharpen his craft. He loves movies and hot sauce more than just about anything.
